Prototype test report (DWG. No. PUFP-4890) for pilot ladder covering visual examination, step flexibility, step friction, step surface durability, ladder and step attachment strength and unrolling test as witnessed by Lloyd’ Register, dated 06 JULY 2020 according to ISO 799:2019.
Remark
1. Each side rope shall be mildew-resistant manila rope meeting ISO 1181:2004, Quality 1 having breaking strength of at least 24kN.
2. Securing ropes shall have a breaking strength of at least 48kN.
3. Ladders shall be designated by the following indications, in order given: Name: “Pilot ladder ISO 799-1”; “S” followed by the number of steps; “L” followed by the length of the securing the rope of the ladder, [m].

4. The bottom of at least two steps of the ladder shall be marked with: the name and address of the manufacturer; the manufacture’s model designation; “ISO 799-1” and “SOLAS”; the year of assembly or reassembly of the ladder; identification of the approved maritime safety administration, along with any approval indications required by that administration, and where used, identification of an approved organization acting on behalf of the maritime safety administration.
5. The bottom of each replacement step shall be marked with: name and address of the manufacturer; the manufacturer’s model designation; the words “REPLACEMENT STEP ONLY”; “ISO 799-1” and “SOLAS”; the year of production of the step; identification of the approved maritime safety administration, along with any approval indications required by that administration; and where used, identification of an approved organization acting on behalf of the maritime safety administration.
6. For the convenience of manoeuvring the pilot ladder to the required height, the permanent marking is made every three steps (approximately every 1m).
7. Each ladder shall be subjected to the ladder and step attachment strength test in Table 2 of ISO 799-1:2019 at approximately 30 month intervals. Each ladder which fails the test shall be rebuilt or scrapped. The ladder shall be marked with the date of the test and identification of the person or company performing the test.
